Apple Vision Pro 2: Lighter, Cheaper, and Actually Useful
Apple's second-generation mixed reality headset addresses every major complaint from version one. Has the killer app finally arrived?

The original Vision Pro was a marvel of engineering — and a commercial disappointment. Vision Pro 2 is Apple's answer: 40% lighter, $1,999 (down from $3,499), and with a battery that actually lasts a full workday.
The new M5 chip and R2 sensor processor combine to deliver near-zero motion-to-photon latency. Passthrough video is now indistinguishable from looking through clear glass.
The killer app? Productivity. Multi-monitor workflows in visionOS 3 are genuinely better than physical setups. Developers including Figma, Linear, and Notion have all shipped native spatial apps.
Gaming is still limited, but with Sony PlayStation VR2 compatibility arriving this fall, that may change quickly.
If you skipped the first one, this is the headset to try.
